Ever picked up a book with a good title, but it turned out to be very dumb?

This happened to me once. I must say it was a combination of author and title that led me to purchase Ethan Hawke's "The Hottest State." At the time, I thought I would attend Carnegie Mellon where he taught a creative writing class, and that I would meet him and tell him I loved his work. It didn't work out that way, and the best Emory had to offer me was David Sedaris... though I'm not one for complaints (and he is inherently a better writer, no?) Anyway, the Hottest State was really lovely when I was 16 and jaded, but at 24 and jaded I can see its faults. About 20 pages of it are pure genius, but if you're going to go the Hawke route might I suggest Eleven Waverly Lane. Celebrities usually turn out a more worthwhile project when using pen names. But that's just my 2 cents. (Hint, hint: Nicole Richie, The Truth about Diamonds.)
